We use social media to alert our friends and clients about exceptional presentations, resources and tools we develop or come across in our work. On occasion we also post these same items to our website so they can remain available to the nonprofit community.
Planning for Capital Projects and Campaigns
In 2003, the Gates Family Foundation in Colorado developed a web-based guide that provides nonprofits with a step-by-step approach to planning for facility expansion and capital campaigns. The guide was updated in 2007 with the help of a talented team of experts in construction, fundraising, lending, high performance (green) buildings, website development and nonprofit management. The guide is available in two versions: as an Executive Summary in PowerPoint and as a full-length Handbook in a Word PDF format. The Executive Summary is a good way to communicate the process to an organization’s staff and board. The handbook makes an excellent desk reference.
