Susan Berkowitz is director of research and records at Coxe Curry & Associates. She supervises a staff of five specializing in accurate, in-depth prospect research on foundations, corporations, and individuals — locally, regionally and on a national level. On a daily basis the research team maintains a proprietary database, which has more than 20,000 records, including in-depth information on some 6,000 corporations, foundations and individuals. The research staff also creates prospect profiles and other detailed research reports tailored to the specific needs of each client. Customized training is available for those clients wishing to develop in-house research capability.
Clients for whom the Research and Records department has performed special research or training include: Atlanta Botanical Garden, Atlanta History Center, The Atlanta Opera, BeltLine Partnership, Inc., Berry College, Catholic Charities, Georgia Meth Project, Georgia Perimeter College, Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta, Inc., Grady Health System, Hi-Hope Service Center, Jacob's Ladder, Lovett School, Monastery of Our Lady of the Holy Spirit, Piedmont Healthcare, Spelman College, Visiting Nurse | Hospice Atlanta and the Robert W. Woodruff Arts Center.
Prior to joining Coxe Curry, Susan spent eleven years with Jewish Family & Career Services, where she held a variety of responsibilities including client database and donor records management, annual campaign administration, special project coordination and staff training.
Susan graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor of science in education degree from the University of Georgia and also earned a master’s degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She is a member of the Association of Professional Researchers for Advancement, is active in a variety of community organizations, and also works as an artist and art teacher. Susan has served as a long-time volunteer for Camp Sunshine, a summer camp and year-round programming organization for children with cancer.
