KAY BUCKHAM KAY BUCKHAM, CFRE - Campaign Director

Kay Buckham is a campaign director with Coxe Curry & Associates. Her fundraising career spans over twenty years and has provided her with a broad range of experience in capital, annual and endowment campaigns, feasibility studies and development assessments.

Prior to becoming a consultant, Kay served as the Vice President of Development and the Development Director at the Atlanta History Center from 2000 to 2004. At the History Center, she directed all fundraising efforts, including special events, grants, sponsorships, major gifts, planned giving, capital support, individual and corporate giving, membership and donor relations. Kay supervised a staff of six and was responsible for $12.5 million in total annual revenue, including $2.5 million in general operating support. She managed multiple capital campaigns and was involved in initiating a ten-year endowment campaign.

Kay’s previous fundraising experience also includes positions as the Development Director for Directions For Youth, an outreach counseling center for children and families in Columbus, Ohio and as the Director of Resource Development for North Central Mental Health Services. While in Columbus, Kay served as President of the Junior League and was active on several community boards.

At Coxe Curry, she has worked most recently with the Atlanta Ballet, Atlanta Opera, Atlanta Women’s Foundation, Berry College, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Atlanta, Center for Family Resources, the Center for Working Families, Clark Atlanta University, Congregation B'nai Torah, Congregation Etz Chaim, Cure Childhood Cancer, Diabetes Association of Atlanta, W. E. B. DuBois Society, Families First, Georgia CASA, Georgia Historical Society, Georgia Public Broadcasting, Georgia Tennis Foundation, Greenfield Hebrew Academy, Hi-Hope Service Center, the Latin American Association, Metropolitan Atlanta Arts Fund, MUST Ministries, National Marrow Donor Program, New Hope Enterprises, New Town Macon, PAGE Foundation, Quality Care for Children, Sadie G. Mays Health and Rehabilitation Center, Southeastern Horticultural Society, Spelman College, Theatre in the Square, the Tubman African American Museum, WellStar Foundation, The Foundation of Wesley Woods and Woodrow Wilson International Center.

Kay is currently active in the Georgia Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, as well as the Junior League of Atlanta, where she serves on the endowment committee. Kay is also a member of the Kappa Alpha Theta Alumnae.

Kay holds a Bachelor of Science degree from The Ohio State University. She is married to Bill Buckham and they have three adult daughters.
