Dan Preister is an associate campaign director with Coxe Curry & Associates. His consulting experience includes conducting feasibility studies and development assessments and providing campaign management for such clients as Atlanta BeltLine Partnership, Atlanta Botanical Garden, the Atlanta Opera, Cobb Community Foundation, Georgia Public Broadcasting, The Children's Museum of Atlanta and Ron Clark Academy. Former clients have also included the Alliance Theatre, American Friends of the Louvre, American Rivers, Atlanta Humane Society, Atlanta Neighborhood Development Partnership, Atlanta Police Foundation, Atlanta Preservation Center, Atlanta Ronald McDonald House Charities, Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, Clean Air Campaign, Georgia Lions Lighthouse Foundation, Georgia Shakespeare, Jekyll Island Foundation, Metropolitan Atlanta Arts Fund, Metro Atlanta Chamber, New Hope Enterprises and True Colors Theatre Company.

Dan joined the firm in April 2001 as a research associate, providing clients with in-depth research on individuals, corporations and foundations and proactively identifying and processing intelligence on the Atlanta nonprofit/philanthropic community and potential donors. Shortly thereafter he was promoted to research manager, assuming more responsibility for analyzing and synthesizing information about funders, industry trends and business opportunities. He also helped to train and manage other members of the research department, helping them to successfully meet the needs of the firm’s consultants and clients. In 2006, Dan transitioned to campaign management and consulting.

Having served as a legislative intern in the Washington office of Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan, Dan’s interest in political science and research led to his obtaining a B.A. degree in Political Science and Sociology from Georgia State University. He was a recipient of the William C. and Loula Nixon Cantrell Scholarship.

Dan continues to be interested in a variety of community and civic issues, serving as a member of the MS Leadership Class of 2010, a volunteer of South Atlantans for Neighborhood Development and United Way of Metropolitan Atlanta, and former Board Member of SouthStar Community Development Corporation and the Jean Childs Young Institute for Youth Leadership. In 2007, Dan was selected as a member of L.E.A.D. Atlanta, an initiative for young professionals sponsored by Leadership Atlanta.

Dan and his partner, Sean, live in the Ormewood Park neighborhood of the City of Atlanta.
